The other day Orikinla dropped by my site. He is a Nigerian with a number of interesting blogs.
- NIGERIAN TIMES
- KISSES & ROSES
- BOGGYWOGGY
- CITIZEN JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (CJAN)
- AFRICAN BEAUTY
- To Live & To Love
- THE RHEMA
Wow!!! That's a lot of blogs. This guy sure is busy.
The blogs are original and interesting although he has some very non PC (but typically African) views on homosexuality (a man not afraid to speak his mind.) Not sure how PC the blog name BloggyWoggy is either. He has bare boobies on African Beauty but not at all pornographic.
Read them, gives some insight into African life and society. Sure makes a refreshing change from the usual boring blog drivel...you know like that wannabe blog scribbler MonkeyBoy.
You lived in Sheffield?
As in Sheffield, South Yorkshire?
When?
Where?

Hi Flo,
Long story...I lived there from birth till the age of 4 in Hollinsend Road (I am not sure of the suburb I have it on another google map but its on my home PC so I'll update later. (yeah I'm still at work.)) This was 1968-1972. It's all a little murky cos I was hitting the bottle quite heavily at that stage.
My folks emigrated to SA in 1972 and the bastards forced me to move out here with them...I had to give up my crib, girlfriend and dummy...I have permanent psychologically scarring from this period.
In '78 the gypsies moved back to Sheffield. This time was less murky. I was 9 and had progressed to stealing gulps of Woodpecker Cider and Newcastle Brown Ale. We lived at 3 Totley Lane, Bradway...I went first to the primary school (forget the name guess the old Woodypecker was a little stronger than I thought and then to Jordanthorpe High school. Just got settled when
1982 back in South African...and I have been here ever since. Haven't even been back for a holiday always seems to be somewhere better (sorry read hotter) to go. My folks are holiday in Sheffield this December actually. Except for my folks, my sister and me the rest of my family...uncles aunts grandparents cousins etc. still live in Sheffield (mostly still in the same road and house for the last 50 years. Guess my parents got all the nomad genes that where going around in those families.)
Why do you ask.....?
I'm off to the pub now...see Pommy roots run deep...and tomorrow I'm off to the Maldives (see somewhere hotter) so if I don't catch you before that will definitely get in touch in Jan.
Regards
Andrew aka Monkey Boy

My brother and his wife have just bought a house on Totley Lane.
How weird is that?
Hollinsend Road is in Gleadless.
